About Us

Cultivating change, one egg at a time

Welcome to Kukula Farm, where agriculture meets aspiration in the heart of Mbamba Village, Malawi. We’re not just another farm; we’re a catalyst for change. Beyond the clucking of chickens and the fresh eggs, lies our core mission: to empower the youth in our community.

We provide hands-on training, educational programs, and mentorship that equip our young people with the skills and knowledge they need to thrive in the agricultural sector. But it doesn’t stop there. By investing in their growth, we’re not just raising chickens; we’re raising future leaders, entrepreneurs, and change-makers.

So, come along and delve deeper into our story, our dreams, and our concrete plans to transform these dreams into a sustainable, impactful reality.

The Minds Behind the Mission

Program Officer

Bichayi Phiri

I’m Bichayi Phiri, a co-founder of Kukula Farm in Malawi. As a Community Development expert with a Bachelor’s Degree in the field, I’ve overcome significant challenges, rising from a humble background to pursue my dream.

With years of experience working with organizations and the government, I’ve built strong connections and recognition.

Kukula Farm is our way of giving back to the community, especially in Mbamba Village, where we aim to empower youth with poultry skills and help malnourished children in vulnerable families.

Your support is highly valued and will make a significant difference in Mbamba Village.

Operational Manager

Sam Chirwa

I’m Sam Chirwa, the Operational Manager of Kukula Farm, driven by a profound passion to transform the lives of youth and vulnerable children.

Malawi, one of Africa’s poorest countries, faces significant challenges, particularly in places like Mbamba Village. Here, numerous children struggle to access education due to financial constraints.

The success of Kukula Farm will be a beacon of hope for these communities, as the proceeds will directly impact the lives of vulnerable families and countless youths.

Your support means the world to Mbamba Village, and we are immensely grateful for it.

Marketing Manager

Mike Melchiot

I’m Mike Melchiot, bringing a unique blend of skills to the table. With a background in video, marketing, and tech, I specialize in creative storytelling and effective communication. My journey has been a fascinating exploration of how these skills can create meaningful impact.

Seven years ago, I fell in love with Malawi during my first visit, where I met Sam, who took care of me and my group. Now, I’m thrilled to channel this expertise into a cause that truly matters.

Kukula Farm is not just a project; it’s a vision for a brighter, more sustainable future. While I also run a successful video agency called Dutch Mike, it’s my passion for community transformation and giving youth a chance through this farm that drives me forward.
